Anacortes Health and Nutrition opened in 1965 as a "mom and pop" store back in the granola days. It is located in downtown Anacortes in a large house that dates back to the early part of this century. The front half of the building holds our store, and in the back half and second and third stories is an old-style lodging house that offers room that rent by the month.

Mike Lambrecht has owned Anacortes Health for the last 20 years, and Don Magness, who moved out of the Seattle area 15 years ago, has managed the store for the past 8 years. He brings some 30 years of natural foods experience into his position.

Our staff includes Tom Wedemeyer, an Alaskan transplant, who keeps our shelves amply stocked with bulk foods; and Angela Meyer, who also owns a farm out in Bow. She is our organizer extraordinaire, and makes our store feel warm and welcoming.
